2010 reflections

Looking back at what I wrote for 2010 and I accomplished all my goals and even more.

I am ending the year with an upbeat note. My family is all together again and I have the love of a good dog, Randy.

One of the most unusual things that happened was a person from my young adulthood, Sheldon K. had called me in August. We talked quite a bit for about six weeks and then he disappeared into the aether, never to return.

I spent time with superheros and Elvis from Breezy Point's Bayside Grill.

My business has not taken off as well as I had hoped, but I will not give up on it. The economy is fragile right now. I am still waiting for a check for work I did for a company back in May. I probably won't see any of it but I did trade up for a "Solidworks" 3D program I can learn and make money on.

I still beat everybody in Scrabble without even trying. It is worse when I am really tired and I come up with high point words at the end. I am glad that I don't play with people who are competitive.

I am currently working at Cummins Power Generation ( http://www.cummins.com/ ) documenting their 870,000 sq. ft. manufacturing area and will be redesigning their productions lines. I really enjoy doing that sort of work.

I got to ski for the first time this century. I am so happy for that. I took my boys, Garrett (16) and Jeremy (13) and we had a blast.

I believe 2011 will be a good year for me.

I will write about it later.

2010 will be a momentous year for me....

I have been unemployed for over 6 months. I am working on three large projects:
  1. Establish my business, CAD vantage, and make it a viable cashflow for my family.
  2. Get my certification as associate in project management (CAPM).
  3. Get bariatric surgery to lose weight and stave off ever getting diabetes.

All this before May 1, 2010.

Quite a task for me. Can I do it? I hope so. I want to.
